Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 July 2026
This is a plain-English starter policy, not legal advice. Please have it reviewed against your jurisdiction and institutional requirements before relying on it.

Duograde ("we", "us") helps educators grade student work with AI assistance. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

What we collect

How we use it

We use uploaded work solely to produce the marks and feedback you request, to operate and secure the service, and to process payments. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

AI processing and no training

Grading is performed via the Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI (ChatGPT) APIs. These providers do not use data submitted through their APIs to train their models, and neither do we. Content is sent only to produce your results.

Data retention

Subprocessors

We rely on trusted providers to run the service: Anthropic and OpenAI (AI grading), Google (sign-in), Cloudflare and Railway (hosting and storage), Neon (database), and Stripe (payments).

Your responsibilities as an educator

You upload student work as its custodian. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to process that work with Duograde and for complying with your institution's policies and applicable privacy law. We act as a processor on your behalf.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is restricted to your account, and submissions are deleted promptly after grading. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account data at any time through your account. Because submissions are deleted right after grading, there is normally nothing further to remove.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.

Questions about privacy can be raised through your account at app.duograde.com.
